Effective movable pig fencing
Pigs.
I think people think pigs are very dirty stinky animals but that is not true. Yes pigs like to wallow in the mud (much like my dog......)
While it is well accepted knowledge that pigs wallow in mud in order to regulate body temperature and keep cool, but did you know it is also for their wellbeing. So a happy pig has food and water, shelter with bedding, a wallowing hole, a place to forage and interaction from humans.
Keeping them where you want them:
Electric fencing is a highly effective way of containing or strip grazing your pigs and/or splitting up existing fields. A visible and easily movable three line fence provides strip-grazing when it is erected across fields. So why would we move pigs around? It enables pastures to be rested, de-wormed and properly grazed and it can also be used to keep pigs away from specific areas or to separate incompatible animals.
Here are some of our Kits:
1. Standard Strip Grazing
The standard 3 line strip grazing kit comprises of polywire and twenty 85cms (3’) tread-in plastic posts and will cover a distance of max 160m. There is a choice of battery or mains driven energisers and both kits come with a complete set of instructions.
If your land is particularly uneven, or you do not have a wooden securing fence post already in place, then we advise that you add two steel corner/end posts to the fence line. These posts act as secure and strong anchors and provide additional tensioning and stability. We also recommend the use of wooden intermediate/corner posts; they provide security and stability to the fence.

2. 3 Reel System kit
The 3 Reel System is a practical and flexible way of keeping in pigs, protecting hedges and walls and sub dividing fields. The 3 reels come complete and packaged in one carton with wire pre-wound on the reels for easy installation.
As the picture below shows the 3 Reel System is one of the most secure and strong fence systems available yet is also one of the most user friendly and easy to maintain.
The 3 Reel System Kit contents
- 3 x Fencing reels (wire spooled on)
- 3 x 400m Galvanised wire or 500m Polywire
- 1 x 40 or 50 fencing posts
- 2 x End system posts
- 1 x Reel fixing post

There is a choice of 400m or 500m systems with both coming with 40/50 fencing posts, heavy duty steel end system posts, heavy duty steel reel fixing posts and line connectors. The 400m kit comes with galvanised wire and the 500m kits with 6 strand polywire or 9 strand polywire. The 3 reel systems provide fantastic functionality and are very robust and easy to maintain. As with all our kits they come complete with instructions. Note: you need to add a suitable energizer to these kits.

3. Fire Drake Solar Operated Three Line Pig Kit 160m
Fire Drake Solar operated three line pig kit (160m) £358.09
This solar 3 line strip grazing kit comprises of polywire and thirty tread-in plastic posts and will cover a distance of 160m (if using three lines). This kit comes complete with everything you need to get up and running to fence your pigs in; including a complete set of instructions which are attached to your order confirmation.

For this kit we recommend the use of wooden start and end posts. These posts act as secure and strong anchors and provide additional tensioning and stability. If you are using wooden posts you will require insulators which screw into the wooden posts and hold the wire in place there is a pack of 25 ring insulators in this kit.
The Solar Fire Drake energiser comes with a 12v internal battery and a 5w solar panel. It also comes with a battery charger to help keep the battery charged during the winter months. This energiser can power up to 2.5km of fencing in idea conditions. We have included a tester in this kit - the KV10 fence tester. It is easy to use and it is possible to tell at a glance if the fence is working as it should.
