Hotline Energiser Warranties

One morning you go out to check your hens and you see a solid light on your energiser.  Something is not right.  You realise that there is no power coming from your energiser as you test it when it is disconnected from your fence!  Oh no this leaves your hens vulnerable to a fox attack.  What do you do?  Luckily nearly all Hotline energisers are covered by a 5 year warranty (if manufacturered after 2021) and so it is possible to send your energiser back to Hotline for a repair under warranty.  This process takes on average 7 days.  How do you go about sorting this out?  We have a look at the step by step process below:

 

Warranty Process

  • Fault? - Make sure it is your energiser and not your fence that is at fault.  Sometimes it is obvious that your energiser is faulty - ie it has a solid green light showing or no output.  But it is not always obvious and it is worth doing a bit of trouble shooting to make sure there is not a fault on your fence before asking for a repair.  See video below - testing your energiser.
  • Checking the warranty - Every energiser made by Hotline has a unique number that is located near to a barcode.  It will start with a 47.  See the image below showing the back of an energsier and the warranty number.  Please check to see if your energiser is under warranty by clicking here - Check Warranty
  • 5 year warranty - Energisers made by Hotline after 2021 have a 5 year warranty.  Energisers made before this will have a 3 year warranty.  There is one exception which is the MB60 Matador energiser which has a 3 year warranty and if faulty this energiser will be replaced rather than repaired.
  • What next? - Once you know that your energiser is under warranty then it is time to send it in for a repair.  If you bought your energiser from us at Electric Fencing Direct we will help you organise your repair with Hotline.  If you bought your energiser else where it is best to contact either your supplier or Hotline Electric Fencing directly -  01626 331188
  • Returns - We will register your return/repair with Hotline and send you a label (with a returns number on it) and instructions on how to send back your energiser for repair.
  • Monitor - We monitor your return at our end and we'll be in touch to make sure the repair is done and the energiser is sent back to you.
  • Warranty after repair - After your repair your enegiser will come back to you in full working order.  You will retain the same warranty period that was left from when your energiser was made and registered.  If your energiser was near the end of its warranty it will have an extension of 1 year beyond the original manufacture date.

 

Testing Your Energiser & Checking the Warranty Number

We tested this energiser and although it was ticking as usual there was no output.  You can see that the lights don't light up on the KV10 tester.  We checked the warranty number and at the time it was in warranty.  It was time to send it in for a repair!
