Hello all,

I love deer and love to watch them as long as they do not eat my veg patch, to stop this we have designed some new kits with you guys in mind and some input from returning customers.

I have had a few calls over the last month regarding keeping deer out of newly seeded gardens and off new and mature hedges. Many of you have asked about an alternative to netting due to the area you need covering, length of area and just not wanting netting.

So together we have designed 4 new kits for you to look at (we can do bespoke kits if you need them longer or have specific requirements - extra gateways etc..).

We have spoken to one of our fence technical guys and he recommended the use of rope to keep deer away from your garden/veg patches/ hedges for shorter distances and for longer distances more lines and the use of rope and wire.

The rope we have chosen is idea - it has 3 copper plated and 2 stainless steel conductors, low resistance of 0.39 ohms, fully UV protected and 187kg breaking strain

And for longer distances it has been recommended the use of 4 lines of wire and 2 lines of rope (top line and 4th line down for visibility) and 4 lines of galvanised wire ( 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 6th lines for extra strength).

Here is a video of electric fencing in action against deer. As you can see the 4 lines are very effective at keeping these deer away as they have checked the fencing out 1st before jumping it and since it has given them a zap they will not approach it again from that place, they may well try further down to make sure the same thing happens before they change their grazing patterns for good.
